Seminal Murder, a continuation of Vermillion's Mara Gilgannon mystery series, follows the investigation of a doctor murdered in her own sperm clinic. As Vermillion's fearless quirky radio personality pursues her friend's killer, she works not only to piece together the murder mystery, but to also protect a former partner who desperately longs for motherhood. Adding to her troubles, Gilgannon experiences a burglary in her office and learns a possible murder suspect is staying in her home. The novel will thoughtfully explore lesbian couples' desire for motherhood and family.
This is Vermillion's third novel, which was published by Regal Crest in May 2012. Death by Discount was nominated for two Lambda Literary Awards, and Murder by Mascot was named as the best sports mystery of the year by InsightOut. Vermillion has also published shorter works, including "The Cereal Aisle" and "Teaching English in War Time." She is currently working on a memoir about her experience as the partner of a transgender man.
