Back in the Future will showcase two One Act plays each evening, each directed by a Mount Mercy University student as part of their capstone drama project. The plays take place in the past, offering a journey starting in medieval times and taking the audience through the late 80's. The theme is love -- love isn't just a word. Even in death love will reign for years into the future.
The One Acts include the plays A Long Time Ago and A Girl's Guide to Chaos.
A Long Time Ago
Directed by senior speech communication/secondary education major Jamie Zaruba.
A Long Time Ago is a Gothic period, tragic one-act play that takes place in a palace court yard with a rose covered archway. Rejected by her Prince, the Queen seeks revenge through an unexpected alliance with The Fool.
In addition to directing the A Long Time Ago, Zaruba has recently performed in Mount Mercy's spring production of Pinkalicious: The Musical, and has made appearances on the Mount Mercy stage during An Inspector Calls, Scapino, and Plaza Suite.

A Girl's Guide to Chaos
Directed by junior secondary education major Miaree Ure-Harmon.
A Girl's Guide to Chaos tracks the sexual adventures, catastrophes, fears and failures of three single New York women in the 1980's.
Ure-Harmon has recently appeared in the Mount Mercy production of An Inspector Calls.
