The executive team of the Student Government Association (SGA) includes:
SGA's executive council consists of elected SGA officers and cabinet members appointed by the president. The executive council is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the SGA, record keeping, finances, and the presentation of items of business for General Assembly action.
Payne, a junior computer science and criminal justice major from Hopkinton, Iowa, will preside over meetings of the General Assembly. His duties will include: acting as a mediator between students, faculty, staff, and administration; appointing committees; advising committees and clubs/organizations; serving on committees; representing the student body; and carrying out the day-to-day functions of the SGA.
Mehring, a junior nursing major from Cedar Rapids, will assist with presidential duties and assume those duties in case of absence or request. She will serve on committees and serve as chair of the SGA Elections Committee.
Russell, a junior English major from Clarence, Iowa, will be in charge of keeping, distributing, and posting minutes of SGA meetings, and preparing the agenda for these meetings. The secretary also carries on correspondence for the SGA.
Wood, a junior communications major from Cascade, Iowa, will act as an executor of the SGA funds and prepare financial reports. Wood will also be in charge of preparing the budget, chairing the SGA Budget Committee, and serving as the banking executive for all SGA clubs and organizations.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official body of clubs, organizations, and student representation on the Mount Mercy campus. The SGA believes in leading through service, and works to develop leadership in its members as well as the entire student body.
