Mount Mercy partners with ICAN to sponsor financial aid presentations

Mount Mercy University is partnering with the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) to sponsor a series of financial aid presentations across Iowa. The "Financial Aid Night" sessions, presented by ICAN representatives and supported by area institutions, are designed to help families learn more about financial aid programs and how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

"ICAN does a great job of making every high school student in Iowa aware of higher education opportunities, and we are proud to help sponsor this important work," says Assistant Director of Freshman Admissions Liz Metz '02.

Mount Mercy will sponsor sessions at several Iowa high schools, including Monticello High School on November 7, Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville on November 9, Columbus High School in Waterloo on November 21, Clear Creek-Amana High School in Tiffin on November 22, Beckman High School in Dyersville on November 28, Kuemper High School in Carroll on December 5, Wahlert High School in Dubuque on January 5, Dowling High School in West Des Moines on January 8, Assumption High School in Davenport on January 9 and Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids on January 11.

ICAN makes hundreds of high school presentations each year on topics such as high school success, college planning, money management, and financial aid. Students are encouraged to check with their high school counseling offices for the dates, times, and locations of ICAN presentations. Students and parents can find out more by calling ICAN toll-free at 877-272-4692, emailing, or visiting
