Mount Mercy University has named Heidi Hesse as Events Coordinator/Admissions Counselor. She began her duties October 18. Hesse will be responsible for coordinating on- and off-campus events and have an assigned recruitment territory of high schools for recruiting and assisting prospective students. Her duties include tracking and evaluating recruiting data in order to initiate effective and innovative recruiting strategies. She will also be responsible for coordinating recruitment events, receptions, open houses and special outreach programs. Hesse’s recruitment territory includes Eastern Iowa and Illinois. She will represent Mount Mercy by interacting with prospective students, families, alumni and counselors.
Prior to joining Mount Mercy, Hesse worked as the assistant tri-brand manager for Enterprise Holdings in Cedar Rapids at the Eastern Iowa Airport. Prior to her time there, she held various positions at Enterprise Holdings in Cedar Falls, Iowa City and Des Moines. She also served as a direct marketing account coordinator for MUDD Advertising in Cedar Falls, where she managed customers’ advertising accounts to help them better reach their marketing needs.
Hesse has also worked on the Walt Rogers’s State Senate Campaign in 2008, interned in Washington D.C. for Senator Charles Grassley, and is involved at Grace Community Church in North Liberty.
Hesse holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication arts (public relations) from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
