Mary Ann Hindman Grobstich joined Mount Mercy in 2016 as Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of the Health Care Administration, Health Care Navigation, and Health Care Leadership majors. Prior to joining Mount Mercy, Mary Ann worked for Mercy Medical Center, Jones Regional Medical Center, and St. Luke’s Hospital in positions within the departments of Social Services, Spiritual Care, Child Protection, and Behavioral Health.

At Mount Mercy, Mary Ann is working to develop curriculum, internships, and programs that address the current trends and future job market for students seeking fulfilling non-clinical careers in the growing and dynamic health care industry. She has served on the Governor’s Advisory Council for the creation and implementation of the IPOST project for the state of Iowa. She is a member of the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care, serving on the planning committee for the organization’s national conference in 2011 as well as presenting “Social Work Leadership in the Heartland” at the annual conference in 2009.

Mary Ann previously taught for the MHSA program for the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She served as location coordinator for the Iowa satellite classrooms for the undergraduate Health Arts program as well as the MHSA program.  

Mary Ann enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, riding her bicycle, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and Sunday afternoons on her sunporch.
