Julie McIntosh, Assistant Professor of Nursing, joined Mount Mercy University in 2005 as a pediatric clinical instructor.  She currently teaches a junior level lifespan nursing interventions course, pediatric clinical simulations, a general studies health course and a study abroad course to the United Kingdom.  McIntosh’s clinical background includes staff nurse, staff educator, and Lead nurse in the Pediatric, Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU), and Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU).   

 She is a member of the American Nurse’s Association, Iowa Nurse’s Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, Kappa Xi chapter, and the Society of Pediatric Nurses.  McIntosh’s passion for teaching keeps her looking for and trying new approaches to connecting the classroom to the clinical setting.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, walking, and spending time with family.
