Band at Mount Mercy University

Concert Band:  Mount Mercy community members of all ability levels are welcome to join the fun and all-inclusive environment provided by MMU Concert Band.

Membership is open to all students, faculty, staff and alumni. The repertoire is chosen from a diverse selection of high-quality wind band and chamber wind masterworks that represent a variety of styles, genres and time periods. Additional performance opportunities include the Jazz Ensemble, University Choir and Pep Band for Mustang athletic events.

Concert Band meets on Mondays, 7–8:20 p.m., and Wednesdays, 3:30–5 p.m.

How to Join

Membership into the Mount Mercy University Concert Band is open to all wind and percussion musicians (music majors & non-music majors) who wish to enrich their college experience by joining a community of musicians interested in performing at a high level. Participants may register for either one credit hour or no credit.

Instrumental music scholarships are available to incoming freshmen and transfer students on a renewable basis. Private lessons for vocal, piano and instruments are open to students from all majors.

The Mount Mercy University Concert Band is under the direction of Mr. Steve Stickney.
