Marcie Van Note is the program director of the Business & Leadership programs at Mount Mercy University and a consultant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She has been a leader in the human capital field for over 25 years with experience in senior leadership roles in human resources and training in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. She has presented at local and national conferences with an emphasis on talent development, leadership, change management, coaching, training the trainer, developing a positive culture, employee engagement, and motivation.

Van Note holds a master’s degree in Training and Performance Improvement (MaED) She has volunteered at many organizations including the Downtown Association, the local Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) chapters, the American Cancer Society and delivers Meals on Wheels. She has previously served as President of the Hawkeye Chapter, Association of Talent Development (ATD) and participated on the Chapter Recognition Committee for national ATD.

Van Note received the National Teaching Excellence award from the Council for Accelerated Programs in 2016. Van Note works tirelessly to ensure employees and businesses work together to become successful. Van Note’s style is described as engaging and original. She can get everyone involved in the learning process through interaction, humor, life experiences and passion. Van Note’s personal philosophy is that learning is an ongoing process—never, ever stop learning.

In her free time, Van Note enjoys supporting the Green Bay Packers and is an avid sports fan in general. She also enjoys gardening, travelling, and reading.
