About
Hannah Baker Saltmarsh teaches Intro to Diversity, composition, poetry, and American literature courses in the diversity studies and English programs at Mount Mercy.
Her teaching and research interests broadly involve identity, gender, motherhood, feminism, race, family, and sense of place. She is a poet and scholar, and has recently published Male Poets and the Agon of the Mother: Contexts in Confessional and Post-Confessional Poetry (Univ. of South Carolina Press). Her first book of poems, Hysterical Water, is forthcoming in Spring 2021 (Univ. of Georgia Press).
Saltmarsh enjoys mentoring students and encouraging aspiring writers and thinkers from all backgrounds and all majors. Outside of academia, she is raising three small children with her husband, writing poems, jogging, and baking bread.
