Mount Mercy University, founded more than 85 years ago by the Sisters of Mercy, is a Catholic University that provides excellent student focused baccalaureate and graduate education. The Department of Student Services invites applications for live-in Director of Residence Life beginning Summer 2015. The Director of Residence Life is part of the department’s senior management team. The Director of Residence Life is responsible for the overall administration of the Residence Life Program with the capacity to house 475 on campus students. Additionally, the Director of Residence Life is to support and develop the professional and paraprofessional residence life staff members employed by Residence Life and through their supervision to develop a vibrant residential community that contributes to our student’s academic success and student engagement. General areas of responsibility include community development, program development, intervention, emergency planning, oversight of the residence hall conduct processes, room selection process, committee development/involvement, recruitment selection planning for professional and paraprofessional staff, and management of the Learning Communities, residential Peer Ministers, and the Catherine McAuley Scholars.
The successful candidate must also demonstrate a willingness to support Mount Mercy’s mission as a Catholic university providing student-focused education in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy.
