Connecting Android Devices to Office 365

These steps can be used to configure your Android device to connect to Office 365 Exchange email:

  1. Navigate to your device’s Settings menu.
  2. Click on Menu > Settings > Accounts.
  3. If you have previously configured a connection to MMU Exchange or Office 365, remove that account from your device.
  4. Click “Add Account” and select Microsoft Exchange (ActiveSync).
  5. When prompted, enter the following information:
    • Email address:
    • Password: your MMU network password
    • Click “Next”
    • Change domain\username to:
    • Change exchange server to:
    • Make sure that the “SSL encrypted connection” check box is checked
  6. If the above information is accepted, you should be presented with an Options page that allows you to select the items from your mailbox that you would like to sync with your device (Messages, Calendar, and Contacts). Which options you select on this page is entirely up to you.
  7. Click “Next.”
  8. Provide a name for the account, if desired. Default name is:
  9. Click “Next.”
  10. At this point, your device should be configured to access Office 365 Exchange; it should begin downloading the contents of your mailbox.
  11. Optional: Some Android OS versions may need to disable “power-saving mode.”

In cases where the native Exchange email client on an Android device is unable to sync with Exchange, or is not providing reliable results, the Outlook for Android application may be an alternate solution.
