Community Value

Value to the Community

More than 90 percent of Mount Mercy University alumni live and work in Eastern Iowa, and they’re making a huge impact on the Corridor. Our students also serve the community in a variety of ways and get connected through internships. More than half of students complete internships or other career-related experiences by the time they graduate. Our career services staff helps establish these connections between our students and business leaders who would like to work with Mount Mercy students.

Through the STEPS leadership program and others, Mount Mercy students dedicate more than 7,050 hours every year to service. Most of this service is completed locally with area organizations and service groups.

“Part of Mount Mercy’s mission is service and gratitude. Mount Mercy inspired me,” said Emily Rummells, BA ’13. Read more about Emily’s MMU experience and her involvement with juvenile diabetes awareness.
