A fire-breathing chemistry professor, a rainbow-creating scientist, and Princess Elsa freezing flowers – sounds like Mount Mercy’s fun-filled CheMMUsical!

Mount Mercy University Science Club hits the road to bring the magic of science to children in local elementary schools through Science Fun Night. Club members and faculty use simple art projects to explain the wondrous world of science for an evening of hands-on learning at school.

Science Fun Night closes with the explosive, fast-action antics of CheMMUsical – an engaging mash of popular music, lovable characters and amazing chemistry experiments rolled into one jaw-dropping show.

Thanks to sponsors Giacoletto Foundation, Alliant Energy and The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, this educational extravaganza is brought to the community completely free of charge.

Eastern Iowa elementary schools interested in hosting Science Fun Night and CheMMUsical may contact Dr. Joe Nguyen at 319-363-1323 ext.1300 or via email jnguyen@mtmercy.edu.
