Mount Mercy University is a private, Catholic, coeducational University founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1,500 students. The University offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated, and graduate degree programs on a picturesque campus overlooking the city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Mount Mercy University Martin-Herold College of Nursing & Health seeks a Doctorally-prepared Nurse Practitioner to serve as Faculty Practitioner in the DNP & MSN programs starting in the 2022-2023 academic year.
This is a full-time teaching position with two days a week allowed for clinical practice. Faculty Practitioners will be on campus to teach face-to-face classes with option for additional MSN online courses. Committee participation and other program responsibility is also part of this role. This dual role provides work/life balance, excellent income, and practical experience to share with students.
The MSN program includes five areas of emphasis (forensic nursing, nursing informatics, nursing administration, health advocacy, and nurse education). The DNP program prepares nurses to become primary care FNPs or for any currently certified nurse practitioner to complete the DNP degree.
This is a unique opportunity for a student-centered, innovative, collaborative self-starter who wants to teach students and continue practicing part-time as a nurse practitioner.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a willingness to support Mount Mercy’s mission as a Catholic university providing student-focused education in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy. Mount Mercy University welcomes those of different faiths and cultural backgrounds and is committed to excellence in education and community service.
Interested applicants should submit an application letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references as Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat attachments to: hr@mtmercy.edu with the subject line: Gradate Nursing Faculty.
