Martin-Herold College of Nursing and Health Faculty Practitioner

Mount Mercy University is a private, coeducational, Catholic institution with strong professional and liberal arts programs.  The Mount Mercy University Martin-Herold College of Nursing & Health seeks certified nurse practitioners (ARNPs) to serve as Faculty Practitioners in the MSN & DNP programs starting in the 2019-2020 academic year.  Faculty Practitioners work two days/week at MMU and teach day and/or evening courses delivered face to face with option for additional online activities, and work as a nurse practitioner with the employer of their choice the other days of the week.  This dual role provides work/life balance, excellent income, and practical experience to share with students.   The MSN program includes five areas of emphasis (forensic nursing, nursing informatics, nursing administration, health advocacy, and nurse education).  The DNP program prepares nurses to become primary care FNPs or for any currently certified nurse practitioner to complete the DNP degree.

This is a unique opportunity for a student-centered, innovative, collaborative self-starter who wants to teach students and continue practicing as a nurse practitioner.

  • Preferred - Doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) from an accredited nursing program; those in completion process will be considered
  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
