Mount Mercy University is a Catholic, coeducational University founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1800 students.  The University offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated and graduate degree programs on a picturesque campus overlooking the city.

Mount Mercy University is currently seeking candidates to fill the position in Maintenance.  This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position.

As a member of the Maintenance Staff at Mount Mercy University you are responsible for maintaining the physical plant of the university at the highest level possible. This position requires:

  • Repair and maintenance of areas assigned to you.
  • Boiler operator certified or willing to attain certification within first year.
  • Must be available for a rotational basis ON-CALL including some night and weekend work.
  • Overtime may be required for maintenance emergencies, severe weather conditions, and special events.
  • Will have frequent lifting up to 60 lbs. and with a partner lifting to 100 lb.
  • Possess a valid Iowa Driver’s license.

In addition, the Maintenance Staff Employee will:

  • Supervise assigned student employees.
  • Be part of the team responsible for snow removal on campus properties.
  • Be responsible for completing work orders assigned in a timely manner.
