Health Services Director and Graduate Clinical Coordinator


Located on a hilltop overlooking the vibrant city of Cedar Rapids, Mount Mercy University (MMU) offers undergraduate, accelerated, graduate, and online programs to 1,800+ students with a dedication to academic excellence and compassionate service. This is a blended position with half-time responsibility as the university health services director and half-time as graduate clinical coordinator.  As health services director, the goals will be the development of a long-term strategic vision for the Mount Mercy University Department of Student Health., and managing daily acute care, programming, trainings, and services (to include testing) for the Mount Mercy University community including, but not limited to, providing clinical health services, crisis response, physical health education, and programming to engage students/employees in healthy living. As graduate clinical coordinator, the responsibilities are managing Mount Mercy University RN-BSN, MSN, and DNP clinical agency agreements, student compliance for program requirements, and positive outreach to new and existing health systems, clinics and other settings for student experiences.  Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and requirements.  Contribute to continuous quality improvement of services, programs, and processes.



  1. BSN degree, MSN or higher preferred
  2. Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  3. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  4. At least two years nursing experience post-graduation
  5. Academic experience desirable.

  • Maintain a current valid driver’s license
  • Skill and ability to effectively use computers and computer software including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Internet tools, and electronic mail.
  • Effectively communicate in a timely manner both verbally and in writing when representing Mount Mercy University; work well with others; take and give direction; demonstrate effective problem-solving skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work independently and to travel by car.
  • Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and outside constituent groups.
