Database Manager

 Mount Mercy University is a Catholic, coeducational University founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1700 students. The University offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated and graduate degree programs on a picturesque campus overlooking the city.

Mount Mercy University is currently seeking candidates to fill the Office of Development & Alumni Relations Database Manager position. This position requires an individual who is comfortable and skilled using a complex database with highly detailed policies and procedures. Success in this position depends on the ability to understand how the donor database supports the overall fundraising initiatives.

  • Update and maintain accurate information in Raiser’s Edge (RE) and supplementary files for all constituent/donor records. Performing constituent record updates (adding, merging, updating addresses, actions, etc.)
  • Complete regular data audits in RE to ensure consistent and accurate data entry.
  • Collaborate with IT department to ensure data integration with internal and student constituents
  • Collaborate with and train President’s office administrative staff on Raiser’s Edge to coordinate fundraising efforts, ensure proper documentation of fundraising activities, and to satisfy the President’s data needs and priorities.
  • Make timely and accurate constituent updates in RE to biographical and other relevant data.
  • Create and run highly complex queries, exports, mailings, and reports to support the team.
  • Regularly update tracking reports for the department and organizational leadership.
  • Leveraging constituent data so support the advancement of the development and alumni goals and exploring new opportunities for capturing information or more efficiently managing relationships.
  • Resolve technical development data issues as they arise.
  • Other duties as assigned, including various administrative tasks, office projects, events, mailings, etc.

Necessary Skills:

  • Must have experience in complex fundraising database management with preference given to experience with Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud products.
  • High level of accuracy with data entry and record processing.
  • Ability to identify inefficient or ineffective processes and suggest improvements.
  • Ability to deal with confidential data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication.
  • Flexibility to handle changing priorities and the ability to thrive and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education Required:  Bachelor’s Degree
