Commitment Level:  Part-Time Year-Round
Hours:  24-28 hrs. per week
Pay:  $13 hr.

Role Introduction

The Store Operations team works directly with store managers to integrate the Tree of Life culture into our campus stores. While we are a “third party” entity, our goal is to engage the campus from within. Each team member has a defined role, but collaboration is an integral part of who we are. We are looking for team members who desire to engage the campus community while furthering the culture and values of both Tree of Life and the institution.

We are seeking team members who place a high value on teamwork, innovation, and character development. The Campus Store Team Lead role helps integrate these values within the campus store.

Role Function

  1. Creates a welcoming environment and builds rapport in the store and around campus
  2. Maintains store stock and appearance through creative displays and merchandising
  3. Fulfills day-to-day mail services operations including but not limited to receiving, sorting, and delivering MMU mail.
  4. Operates and troubleshoots all store and mail-related services, equipment and programs.
  5. Engages and supports students, parents, staff, and faculty to promote sales, solve problems, and build rapport.
  6. Serves store customers in a variety of capacities, including but not limited to point-of-sale operations by handling cash and credit card payments, phone calls (including voicemails and returning calls), and online sales and shipping.
  7. Receives, locates, and ships textbooks, and general merchandise.
  8. Fulfills course material orders.
  9. Supports the store manager with store operations and stands in during the store manager’s absence.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • Schedule flexibility during peak seasons
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds, and carry heavy loads up and down stairways
  • Ability to carry, shelve, bend and stretch in the performance of bookstore operations as well as stand for long periods of time
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in retail or customer service preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, faculty, staff, and general customers
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general internet usage
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to self-start and work independently
