Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology

Position Summary

Mount Mercy University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology with an emphasis in physiology and/or genetics to start in August 2023 or January 2024. We seek a student-centered, enthusiastic, collaborative, and innovative colleague.

The ideal applicant will hold a Ph.D. in Biology or other highly related discipline. Responsibilities include teaching a wide range of undergraduate biology courses (such as Physiology, Genetics and Introductory Biology courses) with potential to teach specialized courses in a field of specialization. Excellence as an educator is the top priority. Faculty teach 5-6 classes per year, engage in a research program with student assistants, advise undergraduate students and provide service to the university. The successful applicant will be expected to work with existing faculty to expand and improve the biology curriculum to meet the needs of our undergraduate students.
