The Janalyn Hanson White Gallery provides high quality visual art experiences to the students, faculty, and staff of Mount Mercy University as well as Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. It serves as a special venue to showcase our Mount Mercy Senior Thesis exhibitions, local high school talent, and the work of many regional and nationally known artists.
This exhibit features artwork by Mount Mercy University Art & Design students who are in their final year of school. Multiple students will each set up their own work in a segment of the gallery. The seniors are Ayra Aminuddin, Ayla Boylen, Ashley Dietze, and Brianna Ostwinkle.
This exhibit will be showing from April 18 to May 15. A reception will be held in the gallery on Sunday, April 24 from 5:00-6:00 PM with food and drink. All are welcome to attend.
Artist Gail Chavenelle has been working for more than 20 years to help us celebrate, give thanks, mourn, laugh and sing. Her work is made from flat sheets of steel by folding, cutting and bending them to create 3D sculptures.
This exhibit will be open from January 31 to February 25. A reception will be held Thursday, February 17 from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery.
