Assistant Professor, Psychology

Mount Mercy University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology position. Undergraduate enrollment in our psychology major has increased and we seek a student-centered, enthusiastic, and collaborative colleague.

The ideal applicant will hold a Ph.D. in psychology or other highly related discipline and be able to support curricula in two or more of the following four areas: clinical, counseling, biological and/or experimental psychology. Courses taught are likely to include some combination of Introductory Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, Biological Psychology, Introduction to Counseling, Theories of Personality and/or, Abnormal Psychology with the potential to create new courses. The ability to develop and teach online courses is highly desired. 

Excellence as an educator is the top priority. The successful applicant will be expected to work with existing faculty to expand the psychology curriculum to meet our increased enrollment. Faculty teach seven classes per year, engage in a research program with student assistants, and provide service to the university.
