Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Mount Mercy University is a Catholic, coeducational University founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 enrolling approximately 1850 students. The University offers a variety of liberal arts, professional, accelerated, and graduate degree programs. 

The Department of Natural and Applied Sciences invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2018. Responsibilities include teaching a wide range of undergraduate CS courses with potential to teach courses focused on a field of specialization. A broad background in Computer Science and proven teaching skills are essential to this position. In addition, a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required for a tenure-track position. Applicants with a Master’s degree may be considered for a non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to curriculum design, support STEM initiatives especially for women, and be available to teach evening as well as daytime classes. Interest supporting collaborative research opportunities for undergraduates also is valued.
