Assistant Director for Communications & Marketing

Are you a leader in marketing capable of working in multiple mediums? Do you have experience leading marketing production teams to impactful outcomes? Mount Mercy University is looking for a great, multi-faceted communicator.  The Assistant Director for Communications & Marketing will be responsible for working with a team of marketing professionals to develop content and tell the stories that advance the visibility and mission of Mount Mercy in a variety of formats. 

Primary responsibilities include project management of day-to-day tasks, larger projects and strategic initiatives.  This position will aid in writing and editing news releases, feature pieces, web content and university collateral materials for publication. The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of the latest trends in marketing.  Knowledge of higher education, printed periodicals production and e-marketing preferred.              

A Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, mass communications, marketing, English or related fields is required.  The ideal candidate will also have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience developing and producing content in different formats including photography, video, web, journalism, and editing for print.  Experience with HTML and WordPress or similar Content Management System is a plus.
