  • Scholarship Day is focused on high school students who have been admitted to Mount Mercy University as incoming freshmen for Fall 2020.

What happens on Scholarship Day?

  • Students attending will participate in a 10-minute casual interview with a Mount Mercy faculty member. The interview helps us get to know you better and helps you learn more about us!

  • In addition to interviews, there will be an academic information fair, financial aid presentation, and other sessions where you can learn more about us and meet members of the Mount Mercy community (students, faculty, staff, and alumni).

  • Following the luncheon, students may also audition for a music scholarship. A student interested in art & design and writing can drop off their portfolios/works. View audition/portfolio requirements.
    • The music or creative talent scholarships are in addition to scholarship dollars earned at Scholarship Day (except the full tuition).

  • Campus tours will also be available after the luncheon.

What do I need to do?

  • Please RSVP.

  • Can't come on either date? Just click "I plan to participate but need to discuss a calendar conflict" on the RSVP form, and we will be in touch.

  • If competing for the Holland Full Tuition Scholarship, be sure to submit your essay/creative project by Saturday, February 8. You may also bring it with you to Scholarship Day.

  • Students: please dress comfortably, but appropriately. “Business casual” is fine, but it’s Iowa and we’ll be moving between buildings on campus, so you’ll still want to bring a coat!

How do I get considered for the Holland Full-Tuition Scholarship?

  • To be considered for the Holland Full-Tuition Scholarship, you must have achieved a 3.7 cumulative high school GPA and a composite ACT of 26 (SAT 1230).

  • You must participate in Scholarship Day.

  • You also need to submit an essay (no more than 750 words), PowerPoint, or other creative projects that addresses the question:
    • What does a college degree mean for you and your future? How would a college degree from Mount Mercy assist you with your future goals?

  • You may also submit a list or resume of your current activities (optional).

  • Submit your materials no later than Saturday, February 8.
