Health Care Administration (Accelerated)

The health care administration major prepares you for professional administration positions in all areas of health care and health care services.

A Health Care Administration Program for Working Adults

The coursework required for this major provides you with a well-rounded background in business with a concentration in health services issues, including regulation, law, compliance, informatics, and financial issues.

Positions in health care facilities could include:

  • physicians' offices and practices
  • chiropractic clinics
  • hospital administration
  • rehabilitation
  • long-term care facilities

Health care administration majors are required to complete an internship or practicum experience.

Transfer Your Credits

  • Transfer up to 75 credits from an Iowa community college or up to 93 credits from a regionally accredited 4-year university

  • Students may transfer up to 60 credits from College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and 30 credits for your life experience using the Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) portfolio documentation

  • Veterans may also earn credit for military training via the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES)
