Finance (Accelerated)

The finance major prepares you to work in any of the major areas in the field of finance.

A Finance Program for Working Adults

Complete your degree in as little as 18-24 months! (based on program and transfer credit)

The coursework required for the finance major gives you a well-rounded background in business and finance. You’ll learn the core areas of finance, including:

  • Time value of money
  • Evaluation of financial performance
  • Planning and forecasting
  • Risk vs. return tradeoffs
  • Securities valuation
  • Capital budgeting
  • Cost of capital
  • And portfolio management.

CFA Institute Affiliated Program

The finance major is a Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Affiliated program.

The CFA charter credential is the most difficult to obtain in the finance field and also the most respected. This means that you are getting courses that cover the essential material of the field. Additonally, the program allows us to award up to six scholarships per year to students so that they can sit for the CFA Exam, which saves them roughly $1,000.

Students are very able to manage the expectations of the classroom while raising a family and working full-time. I admire their maturity, tenacity, and energy.
