Eugenia Gratiot Loetscher (1903-1979) -- student

A lifelong resident of Dubuque, Iowa, Eugenia Gratiot was born there in February 1903 and briefly attended Vassar College (1920-1921). Gratiot continued her studies at the University of Dubuque (1922-1923), the University of Wisconsin (1922-1925), and the University of Chicago.

Active in local art efforts, Loetscher served as a president for the Dubuque Art Association. Loetscher also volunteered for local, medical and social organizations -- Finley Hospital, Hillcrest Family Services, and the Visiting Nurses Association. A member of Iowa Chapter GE, PEO International, Loetscher remained in Dubuque and died there in October 1979.
