Icons of Art: The Artists and the Works

Home - The Project - The Colony - The Artists - Resources - Credits

Grant Wood's Studio at 5 Turner Alley in Cedar Rapids, IA.
He was there from 1924-1934. This scan of a postcard is used with the permission
of the Grant Wood Gallery, Anamosa, IA. Photograph by John W. Barry, Jr.

Grant Wood is known best for producing one of the icons of American art - American Gothic.  It is a tribute to art and architecture. There are, of course, many other icons in art, architecture and photography. This sample of some of the art icons found on the WWW is offered as a lagniappe - a little bit extra. Enjoy.
