About

Jane Triplett enjoys being an adjunct instructor at Mount Mercy University, teaching applied flute and instrumental technique classes for music education.

She was born and raised in Eldora, Iowa, and earned her Bachelor's of Music Education at Iowa State University and her Master’s in Music Education from the American Band College at Southern Oregon University. 

She has been an adjudicator for the Iowa High School Music Association for 30 years, served as a head All-State Music Festival judge and guest conductor for honor bands across the state of Iowa. She is a member of the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association, where she has held the offices of president, vice-president, commission chair, mentorship chair, Major Landers Scholarship chair, and the chair of IBARD and Advocacy committees. At the state level with the Iowa Bandmasters Association, she has held chair positions of public relations, Major Landers, and president. Jane also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa, helping to coordinate the instrumental technique courses for music education.

In her spare time, Jane supervises student teachers at Iowa State University, teaches private lessons at home, works with West Music as an art advocate, plays in the Iowa City Community Band, and enjoys travelling. Steve, her husband, is currently a clinical professor in the Education Leadership Program at the University of Iowa. They have a son, Kyle, and two stepdaughters, Tricia, and Laura, that all reside in the Iowa City area. Steve and Jane reside in North Liberty with their golden retrievers, Mac and Molly.
