First, you will begin with foundation courses in four major fields:
Additionally, an advanced seminar is required, normally taken during your senior year. It is intended to give you valuable experience in conducting independent study. The remaining five courses required for a major in political science may be chosen by YOU, to fit your intellectual interests, educational goals, or career objectives. Two of these elective courses, must be taken from other departments; they are intended to supplement your specific interests in political science and strengthen preparation for your career or graduate study.
Complementary majors/minors include criminal justice, business, history, international studies, criminal justice, secondary education, philosophy and sociology.
Students majoring in political science affiliate with several social and service clubs. They include the Student Government Association, the Political Science Club, and the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
