Programmer/Report Writer

Reports to the Director of IT. The Programmer/Report Writer will bring Microsoft SQL Server/.Net Framework knowledge and experience and Microsoft Reporting Services knowledge and experience to the relatively recent implementation of a new student information system.

This position will write and maintain software applications using established programming procedures; write and maintain programming documentation; create and modify complex reports using Reporting Services; create models for use with Report Builder and Business Intelligence Studio; develop back-end processes as needed to supplement the functionality of front-end application; create stored procedures and views to support back-end processing and reporting; and mentor and train others in the use of Reporting Services.

Basic Qualifications

B.S./B.A . preferred, A.A./A.S. degree required, preferably in information systems or computer science.
3+ years of related experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, .Net Framework and Microsoft Reporting Services required.
Demonstrated experience with writing and working from specifications and documentation and testing required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of Microsoft Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (T-SQL), .Net Framework (C# and ASP. Net), Microsoft Reporting Services 2005, and Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft SharePoint 2007, is desirable.
Knowledge of Sungard PowerCAMPUS and PowerFAIDS is a plus.
Strong communication skills; creativity and problem-solving ability; ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment; ability to collaborate with IT colleagues and end-users on projects; and attention to detail required.
Experience in higher education is desirable.
