Mount Mercy University was selected to receive a $4 million matching grant from The Hall-Perrine Foundation. The grant is to be used toward the university’s athletic complex capital project, which was announced in early June.  “We’re grateful that The Hall-Perrine Foundation has been very supportive of Mount Mercy over the years,” said Interim President Norm Nielsen, “and this, the largest gift Mount Mercy has received from Hall-Perrine to date, will help us accelerate our development of the property.”

Mount Mercy student Jeremy Cline and Assistant Professor of Biology Ryan Bezy are working with a University of Iowa research team to study bacterial cell division this summer. Bezy was selected as a fellow through the University of Iowa's program and Cline is serving as his student research assistant. The two are working closely with University of Iowa faculty host David Weiss, Ph.D., to carry out a genetic analysis to identify novel genes involved in Escherichia coli (E. coli) cell division.

Mount Mercy’s Students in Human Resource Management (SIHRM) Club has been recognized with the Student Chapter Merit Award of Excellence from the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The annual award recognizes SIHRM chapters for outstanding activities and projects pertaining to chapter requirements, operations, programming, and professional development of members, support of the human resources profession, and SHRM engagement.
