Mount Mercy University will host the second annual Chamber Choir Festival on Thursday, February 21. Choirs from Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Vinton-Shellsburg and Linn Mar high schools will join the Mount Mercy University Choir for an afternoon of rehearsals, clinics and an "Informance" in the Chapel of Mercy on February 21, at 5:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public; seating may be limited.

Three Mount Mercy University students were selected as members of the 2012 Iowa Collegiate Honor Band at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. This marks the second year Mount Mercy has participated in the honor band, which consists of players from 15 other Iowa colleges and universities.
“This was a great opportunity for our students to play a collegiate program under great guest conductors and meet and mingle with band students from across the state,” said Mount Mercy Coordinator for Campus Music Gerald Kreitzer.

Members of the Mount Mercy University Choir, Jazz Connection, Band and Handbell Ensemble will perform Lessons and Carols Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in Chapel of Mercy on Mount Mercy's campus. This event is free and open to the public; seating may be limited.

The Mount Mercy University Choir will participate in Orchestra Iowa's Brucemorchestra on Sunday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. at Brucemore Historic Mansion. The event serves as the debut for Orchestra Iowa's 91st season. Also joining the event will be Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale, Coe College's choir, and Alan Huckleberry of The University of Iowa.
