Mount Mercy University will showcase an array of exemplary students work at Scholarship Festival on Wednesday, May 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Betty Cherry Heritage Hall and the University Center. The scholarship festival is hosted by the Mount Mercy University Honors Program and Pathways Project, and is free and open to the public; seating may be limited.

Mount Mercy University received approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) for its Quality Initiative project, Pathways to Scholarship. The university is participating in the launch of a new HLC accreditation model that includes a campus-specific improvement project, the Quality Initiative. Mount Mercy's two-year project placed special focus on energizing scholarship by encouraging faculty and student engagement in research and creative work, both individually and through collaborative teams.

Mount Mercy University President Christopher Blake, Acting Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Melody Graham, and Vice Provost Jan Handler represented Mount Mercy at the 17th annual Conference on Quality in Higher Education, sponsored by the Higher Learning Commission.
