13 regional championships.  More than 1,650 community members served through service projects that explore entrepreneurial action. 3 national recognitions for Mount Mercy alumni and current students. Mount Mercy has a storied history with the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) organization. And now, it transfers that success and engagement to Enactus.

Mount Mercy University is hosting the second annual Good Sport Day for students in Arthur Elementary on Friday, September 21, and Erskine Elementary on Friday, September 28. Through this event, elementary students will have the opportunity to learn best practices for conflict resolution as Mount Mercy students will demonstrate good and bad sportsmanship conduct in role playing sessions. The event will also include a presentation of nutritious snack choices and free time to run around and play in the university's gymnasium.

Mount Mercy University alumnus Nate Klein ’07 has been awarded the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) National Alumnus of the Year Award. The award recognizes the achievement of one outstanding SIFE Alumnus who has used his or her SIFE experiences to excel in life and in his or her chosen career, and who has continued to make a difference in the lives of others.

Mount Mercy sophomore Kimberly Moorman, a finance major from Coggan, Iowa, has been selected as the recipient of the 2012 SIFE Emerging Leader Award. The national award recognizes an outstanding university student who has demonstrated proven leadership abilities through their participation on a SIFE team and who exhibits the potential to make significant future leadership contributions to the consumer packaged goods industry.

Mount Mercy University welcomes nationally known recruitment consultant Bill Humbert, author of RecruiterGuy's Guide to Finding a Job. Humbert's presentation, "Dynamics of Your Job Search During a Recession," will be held on Monday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall, and is free and open to the public. Seating may be limited.
