May 6, 2014 - 12:05pm to 1:05pm | Chapel of Mercy, Busse Center, Mount Mercy University

Children don’t wake up one morning and decide they’ll be prostitutes; they are forced into it. The average age of for children being forced into the sex industry in the United States is 12. Any minor engaged in the sex industry is a victim of human trafficking. Human trafficking affects 2.7 million people and is currently a $32 billion dollar industry.

Join guest speaker Irma Ries, PBVM, for a discussion on this important topic. Refreshments will be served. All are welcomed.

This event is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy Ministry Grant to promote education about the issue of human trafficking.
