Mount Mercy University will showcase the capstone projects of senior art students during a three-part Senior Thesis Exhibit at the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery, April 16 – May 21. After a year of research, concept development, and studio work, each Mount Mercy art senior exhibits a selection of their Senior Thesis work. The exhibit will be open to the public Monday through Friday, 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery located on the Mount Mercy campus.
Senior Thesis III
The final exhibit will be on display May 13 – 21, with a reception on Sunday, May 13, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. This third exhibit will feature the art of Cody Bouwman of Alvord, Scott Droessler of Cedar Rapids, Jodi Moore of Marion, Namrata Raghvani of Marion, and Maria Terzopoulou of Cedar Rapids.
Receptions are held in the art gallery. The Janalyn Hanson White Gallery is located in lower McAuley Hall on the Mount Mercy University campus. Viewings outside of normal business hours can be arranged by checking out a gallery key from the Lundy Desk, or by calling 319-363-8213.
Mount Mercy offers numerous Happenings on the Hill cultural affairs events each year, including plays, lectures, forums, and exhibits, which are free and open to the community. Events offer resources on business-related topics of interest and perspectives on the global and local issues of race, gender, minorities, and cultural differences.
