Bill Basler artworkMount Mercy's Janalyn Hanson White Gallery will showcase the artwork of graphic design artist Bill Basler during a special exhibit titled "From color to cattle to coffee: A 29-year Graphic Design Compendium." The exhibit runs January 6 – February 10, Monday through Friday, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Basler will offer a special artist talk on February 10 at 4:00 p.m. in Lundy 4, Lower Lundy Hall on Mount Mercy's campus. A closing reception celebrating the artist and his work will immediately follow from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Gallery. All events are free and open to the public, seating may be limited.

Basler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Iowa State University. He has worked as a professional graphic designer since 1983 and began in the Cedar Rapids area with two local advertising agencies. In 1990 he founded Basler Design Group, which is now in its 21st year.

Basler has been widely recognized in the graphic design and marketing fields. His firm's work has been featured in Communication Arts, Graphis, How, and Print, the most respected journals for graphic design and visual communication. Basler Design Group has also won hundreds of local, regional, and national Addy Awards and National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) awards. He is currently working with the producers of the hit TV series "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" to create artwork for a newly remodeled house in West Union, Iowa, to be featured on the show.

Monday – Friday | 4:00 p.m. –  6:00 p.m.
