Wednesday, April 6, 2011 - 3:30pm - 4:30pm | Chapel of Mercy, Busse Center
Mount Mercy University will welcome Holocaust survivor Elaine Geller during a special presentation as she shares memories of her childhood during the Holocaust.
Geller was just a 4-year-old girl living in Poland when the Nazis invaded her country. After a brutal six-year struggle to live, Geller became one of the youngest survivors of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Of the 9 million Jews in Europe during World War II, nearly 6 million lost their lives during the Holocaust. Of those 6 million, 1.5 million were under the age of 17. Geller will share her memories of a lost childhood during this stirring lecture.
The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. A reception will follow immediately following the presentation, with light refreshments provided.
The Holocaust speaker is sponsored by the Thaler Holocaust Fund.
