MMU nursing gets visit from Korean colleagues

Eleven nursing students and their instructor Juh Shin from Seoul, Korea visited Mount Mercy’s campus on July 15.

Assistant Professor of Nursing Elaine Cook guided the students through the clinical simulation lab, the mock care environments where MMU nursing students practice classroom skills in lifelike scenarios.

The visit gave students a chance to explore the nursing curriculum of an American university, and ask questions about the differences and similarities in the learning experience.

Mount Mercy nursing student Tessa Friason accompanied the visitors on a general tour of campus as well.

Before arriving in Cedar Rapids, the group explored Chicago and Iowa City. Visiting Mount Mercy was one of their last activities before traveling back to Korea.
