Religious Studies Professor Shares Expertise

Charlotte Joy Martin, Ph.D., Mount Mercy religious studies professor, presented “Liturgy as the Heart of John Paul II’s Social Encyclicals” as a visiting scholar to Saint John’s University in Collegeville, MN in February 2014.

Dr. Martin’s thought-provoking lecture focused on the Eucharist and its social teachings as expressed by Pope John Paul II, including reflections from her life-changing understanding of the Pope’s 1979 speech to the United Nations General Assembly.

A member of Mount Mercy University’s faculty since 1991, Dr. Martin is the author of “Dynamics of Hope: Eternal Life and Daily Christian Living”, and is listed in the "Who's Who in College Teachers."
