Iowa Outdoors: The DNR’s Magazine of Conservation and Recreation recently featured Neil Bernstein, Ph.D., Mount Mercy University biology professor. The article profiled some of the work he and his students have done to monitor endangered yellow mud turtle populations at Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve in Muscatine.

While the yellow mud turtle population continues to decline, Bernstein and the Mount Mercy students who conduct research with him are actively seeking information to help curb this population decline. To learn more about Bernstein’s research and conservation efforts, you can read the complete story online.
