Welcome to the members of our regional accreditation visiting team

Mount Mercy is pleased to welcome the members of our regional accreditation visiting team, who will be on campus Monday and Tuesday February 18-19. Regional accreditation is a cherished part of quality control in U.S. higher education. It provides a system of professional accountability that has long ensured educational strength in America's colleges. Members of the team include:

  • Dr. Henry Rinne, Dean of College of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Arkansas Fort Smith
  • Dr. Joseph Frizado, Vice Provost for Academic Operations and Assessment, Bowling Green State University
  • Dr. Sam Shanks, Division Chair of General Education and Honors, Briar Cliff University
  • Dr. Amy Stein, History and Humanities Faculty, Yavapai College

These dedicated individuals serve as peer reviewers for the Higher Learning Commission. Their campus visit includes a full schedule of focused meetings and open sessions designed to contribute to a comprehensive 10-year review of Mount Mercy’s status in relation to a range of accreditation criteria.
