Mount Mercy welcomes new Board of Trustee members

Dawn BazarkoMount Mercy University welcomed two new members to its Board of Trustees this past fall, Dawn M. Bazarko and Ronald J. Herold. Both bring dynamic professional credentials and leadership experience to the Board.

Speaker, author and industry leader Bazarko has more than 20 years experience as a nurse and senior health care executive, and a track record for improving the way in which health care delivers value. A 1985 graduate of Mount Mercy's nursing program, she holds graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota and the Wharton School. For much of her career she has served in senior leadership for UnitedHealthcare. Currently, she serves as senior vice president with the Center for Nursing Advancement for UnitedHealth Group.Ron Herold

Herold serves on the Board of Advisory of Spell Capital Partners, LP and has been advising businesses for more than 35 years as a shareholder, venture capital investor and advisor. After attending Aviation Sheet Metal and Hydraulics School in the Navy, he went to work for Hansman Industries, Inc., a Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication firm for computer and business machines, where he rose from shipping clerk to General Manager and then sole shareholder.
