Mount Mercy Mustangs participate in ‘Teal Night’ for Cedar Rapids Dance Marathon

Cedar Rapids Dance MarathonMount Mercy University will take on Coe College during the Cedar Rapids Dance Marathon's (CRDM) "Teal Night" on Friday, December 30 during the men's and women's basketball games hosted by Coe College. The two teams have combined efforts to encourage supporters to participate in Teal Night and help raise money for the CRDM and the University of Iowa's Children's Hospital.

Mount Mercy invites Mustang fans to wear teal-colored apparel and attend the games on December 30 in support of the teams' efforts. The women's game begins at 5:00 p.m., with the men's matchup following at 7:00 p.m. in Eby Fieldhouse on the Coe College campus.

In 2011, students from Mount Mercy, Coe and Kirkwood Community College partnered to help fight childhood diseases and cancer by holding the first annual CRDM. The event was the top inaugural dance marathon in the nation, garnering more than $25,000 as students and student-athletes danced and played games for 12 consecutive hours.

Now in its second year, CRDM is looking to increase its donation for this year's marathon, which Mount Mercy will host on April 14. Students are reaching out to the Mount Mercy and Coe College athletic communities for support.
