Mount Mercy Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team will hold a special presentation on Monday, March 29 at 5:00 p.m. in Flaherty Community Room, Basile Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.
The SIFE team won its 12th consecutive SIFE Regional Championship last year in Minneapolis, Minnesota and advanced to the SIFE National Competition held in Philadelphia, Pa.
The team is making final preparations for this year’s regional competition, to be held in Chicago on April 8. The March 29 presentation will provide the Mount Mercy community and surrounding public the opportunity to experience in advance the team’s multimedia presentation and the opportunity to learn more about SIFE and its goals of encouraging students to learn networking skills and utilize professional partnerships in order to teach others about the principles of free enterprise.
Mount Mercy’s SIFE presentation team members include senior Ashley Coon of Oxford Junction; senior Patric Engelken of Center Point; sophomore Hanna Hagedorn of Cedar Rapids, sophomore Adam Kaefring of Solon, Iowa; sophomore Zachery Kuntz of Ely, Iowa; senior Yesenia Mendoza of Austin, Minn., sophomore Joshua Putz of Swisher, Iowa; and senior Cody Schmitz of Central City, Iowa. Team advisors and Sam M. Walton Fellows are Tom Castle, dean of the institute, Bob Walker, business department chair, and Anne King, lecturer of business.
SIFE, the largest student organization in the world, provides students the opportunity to make a difference by developing leadership skills through learning, practicing, and teaching the principles of the free enterprise system.
