Mount Mercy presents the work of Artist Kenneth Hall

Mount Mercy College will present the work of Artist Kenneth Hall during a special exhibit titled, “Between Here and There: Painting and the Unseen,” February 12 – March 3 in the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery on the Mount Mercy campus. An artist talk will be held February 12 at 4:00 p.m. in the Busse Library viewing room, with an artist reception immediately following at 5:00 in the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery.

Hall, an assistant professor of art at the University of Northern Iowa, creates work that is both playful and subversive. He uses paintings to put the viewer in a place of temporary suspension, allowing them to enter a world that is both mysterious and dreamlike.

The Janalyn Hanson White Gallery is located in lower McAuley Hall on the Mount Mercy College campus. The gallery is open Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or by appointment. Viewings outside of normal business hours can be arranged by checking out a gallery key from the McAuley Switchboard, or by contacting the Lundy Desk at 319-363-8213.
