Mount Mercy business professor elected President of the Iowa Senior Human Resource Association

Mount Mercy’s Assistant Professor of Business Tracy Tunwall has been elected as the 2010 President of the Iowa Senior Human Resource Association, which includes more than 30 members statewide. She will begin her new role January 1, 2010. 

Candidates considered for membership must possess more than 10 years of work experience in human resources, made contributions toward progress of the field, and posses a strong dedication to volunteerism.

“I look forward to the opportunity for our group to support professionals who are just entering the field,” says Tunwall. “The role of Human Resources has changed dramatically in the last 10 years, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to support and advance this important profession.”

Tunwall holds a Masters in business administration from St. Ambrose University, a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Northern Iowa, and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in International Business. She has previously worked in the for-profit industry in human resources, quality assurance, operations management, and customer service.

Tunwall was influential in implementation Mount Mercy’s new Human Resource Management program. She is a member of the Iowa Senior Human Resource Association as well as the Society for Human Resource Management. Tunwall also has her Senior Professional in Human Resource certification, and is a member of the Professional Women’s Network. Tunwall holds a certificate in adult learning and literacy, human resource management, and a T1 certification from the American Compensation Association.
